Emericus Ensemble is the musical collaboration of three friends from the Three Americas. Vocalist Elise Figa, guitarist Carlos Cuestas and bailadora Julia del Palacio came together in 2012 to explore connections between the sounds of Spain and the New World through music and dance.  Using historical 17th century as well as Mexican traditional instruments and zapateado (percussive dance from the Son Jarocho tradition of Veracruz, Mexico), Emericus brings together the sights and sounds of Ibero-America.
